  • FAQ

  •

  • How did TrekTrek become what it is?

The story had begun when a few seasoned travelers embarked on an expedition in Nepal. After months of hardships in the rough country they knew their friendship will endure and thus together envisioned their future. With wealth of worldwide experience in adventure travel they set out organizing tours to the world's remotest places (Tibet, Sahara, Patagonia...) With the unique charisma they lured top adventure experts and Balkan researchers to their aid. Through time and with the experience from abroad the team engaged half of the company in local responsible adventure tourism at home in Slovenia and in the rest of the Balkans. After 10 years in business they strive for excellence worldwide and are one of the finest adventure travel companies in the region.

It all depends on the age and your kids abilities. For older kids (12-18) there should be no problem taking them on our regular trip. We keep our accommodation up to standard with quality hotels on prime locations in towns and villages. Only the boutique hideaways with the right ambient and a certain "je n'sais quois" conform to our strict standards. On the other hand certain mountain trips do include getaways deep in the nature high up in the Alps. To get far away and stay close to nature we sleep in huts which are basic, but clean. In some secluded and still untouched parts in the lowlands, where tradition is still alive and tourist infrastructure is on a family-owned base, we sleep in simple family run inns or rustic lodges - a perfect choice to meet warm and friendly people. At all times we select the accommodation on the basis of right ambient, location and quality of service.

What kind of meals can I expect?

We believe that excellent food is one of the most significant things on the trip (especially because the owner's personal quest for the ideal blend of flavors). Our food is always fresh and organic fusion food enriched with local farmer's dishes or completely made by old recipes of our grandmothers. We emphasize fabulous gourmet picnic lunches with various salads and fruits seasoned with freshly picked herbs. And we never forget the joys of excellent wine and smells of musky vine cellars. Bon appetite! Dober tek!
